European HPC for ML - ELISE Online Crash Course Materials

published on
June 29, 2022

High Performance Computing offers massive computing power, excellent operational support and security standards that yet again achieved breakthrough state of the art performance in machine learning (ML) and AI this year (e.g. PaLM (Google), OPT175B (Meta) , Dalle-2 (OpenAI)).

As part of the ELISE project and brought to you by Technical University of Denmark, our online crash course explores the current European High Performance Computing (HPC) landscape and provides tools and guidance to smoothly migrate your ML project from laptop or local GPU cluster to HPC cloud. Join in and get started on one of the European supercomputers.

The course took place on June 24th, 2022. The presentation with materials from the course and recordings is available here. Check it out to find out:

  • How to find suitable HPC for your ML project
  • How and where to get access and how long does it take
  • Step-by-step tutorial: Training a deep learning model on HPC
  • Code execution on 3 different platforms for comparison.

The course was carried out by Petr Taborsky, Data Scientist at Danish Technical University.
