PageGazer by Labvanced is innovating UX/UI market research by offering a solution that combines eye-tracking with decision-making data across the entire user journey on eCommerce websites. PageGazer innovates for market research by distinguishing and quantifying cognitive processes like image exploration, reading, browsing, or item search.
“When todays’ marketers and UX/UI researchers are studying user behavior, they currently have no clear way to map out the attention and user interaction process from start to finish,” says Labvanced CEO Caspar Goeke. “Popular tools, such as mouse tracking, only reveal this process partially.”
PageGazer enables high-quality webcam eye-tracking for any website and application, while providing a new level of actionable insights. This is achieved by integrating information from eye movements, mouse movements and website data.
“Running our own code for webcam-based eye-tracking on any website is not that easy, because most websites prevent it from being rendered within normal iframe,” says Goeke. “However, using a variety of tricks, PageGazer at this point works on about 75-85% of websites without any problems. To achieve our goal of more than 99% website compatibility more technologies and work will be needed.”
In the future, PageGazer could also be used in the health industry by conducting eye tracking experiments through phone-based apps in clinical populations. “For example, for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s patients, where eye movements play a critical role in the wellness outcome.”
