ELISE supports this year’s Vision and Sports Summer School taking place from 25–30 July 2022 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Overview
Vision and Sports is a special kind of summer school: In addition to a broad range of lectures on state-of-the-art Computer Vision and Machine Learning techniques delivered by top experts in the field, it offers exciting sport activities, such as tennis, volleyball and climbing. ELLIS Fellows participate as lecturers in the school’s teaching program.

The format offers many opportunities for personal contact between students and teachers, and combines the best of both worlds: high-quality teaching on Computer Vision, and lots of fun with a variety of attractive sports. Sports are organized by the same internationally renowned experts who deliver the lectures.

Classes include both lectures and practical exercises

The summer school covers a broad range of subjects reflecting the diversity of Computer Vision. Each lecture will cover both basic aspects and state-of-the-art research. Every day, there are two Computer Vision classes and one sports session. The classes include both lectures and practical exercises. The school is open to about 60 participants, and is targeted mainly to young researchers (Master and starting PhD students in particular). Following the summer school, on Saturday, there will be a workshop where the teachers will present their latest research work. Students can attend this exciting workshop for free and have the opportunity to see some cutting-edge computer vision research.
